Hey all,

For those who remember, I was going to get a double kick. Some recommended the Pearl eliminator and some recommended the Iron Cobra. Well, rockshop recommended the eliminator, and that's what i've ended up with. It's just amazing, absolutely love it.

One draw back is that the left pedal (the one not connected to the kick drum) keeps sliding under the hi-hat stand and scraping when it's going up and down. I'm using the red utensils, which extend out quite a bit, but that shouldn't be a problem if it didn't slide in the first place.
I've tried taking out the springs for the pins that go into the carpet to be screwed in more, but it still moves back.

Anyone had this problem, or have ideas to fix?

One band. One sound.

Yeah, I had the same problem with my Powershifter on my Ashton kit, but when I got the Mapex it had slightly higher struts on the high-hat stand, so the chain didn't collide with the strut at any point.

I was almost preparing to get some of that non-slip matting, and glue it to the underside of the footboard, or sit the pedal on it. Maybe something to consider.

Yeah I got the same prob with my Iron Cobra, however nothing scrapes cos my hihat stand is an IC also.I just duck tape the pedal to the floor.
Now,Tama do actually make a clamping system specially for the IC line of pedals that attach to the IC hihat stand to stop this from happening.
I dunno if Pearl do an equivalent though.

My P-100 does it, its annoying, but yes, as Tamadude said, some companies make special attachments to hold your HH stand and Slave pedal together so they dont creep out of place

I wouldn't be able to use that. My hihat stand hardware sucks, and doesn't have rotating legs, and I haven't yet removed one of them, so I have to move the hihats quite far out to the side when practising double-kick work.

Yeah I assume that's going to be an issue for me too when I get my Elims. I'll probably need to get an H-2000 to go with it

Or H-1000 , personally i will go with H-1000 cos it is traditional pull chain where as H-2000 has the rolling joint thing, and i dont lie that much, but if you want a 2 legged stand, then yeah, H-2000 or Iron Cobra HH905 or HH805

This is slighly off topic possibly, but still deals with sliding. What's the best way to stop your kit sliding all over the show, specifically my bass drum and hi-hat pedals. I've got the spikes out as far as they go and they still wander like you wouldn't believe.

Get yourself a piece of carpet that will fit your bass drum and hihat.Carry it in your car (if you have one) all the time, or in your trap case/bag.

They slide off the carpet???? Whoa!

Um, what about trying to anchor the bass drum to your throne?Don't ask me how, I'm just thinking out loud.

Seriously, I've come close to similar. I've contemplated putting a couple of hooks in the wall behind me and then chaining the bass (at the spurs) to these hooks. However, that's only good for when in my practice room, and although I don't gig at the moment, I'd like to find a solution that is usable on gigs too.

I think part of the problem could be the fact that it's crappy Forum hardware, etc.

What I've noticed, is it started happening once I took the toms off my bass and mounted them off stands. I figure the weight loss would be the reason why my bass has started moving, but I'm not about to put weight on there again...

I think threading them into the ground might be better...hehehe No, I think finding some giant, non-slip mat would probably do the trick. It has to be big enough to cover most of the kit though.

Or hammering blocks of wood to the floor!

Some sort of rubber mat? Then you have to be carefull your spurs don't rip it huh.

Well, I'm thinking if it's non-slip I can change the spurs back to normal rubber tipped feet. If the bass is firmly supported by the mat, I don't need the spurs to dig into the ground, just balance the bass.

The floor tom(18"!) from my Gretsch kit doesn't have any rubber feet so when its on a wood floor the vibrations make it "dance" around a bit!
